The workshop will focus on a) Curriculum and Test design, b) accessible training materials, c) best practice examples and d) test centre accessibility evaluation. The workshop will discuss this issue and raise important aspect of leadership. back to top D) New Challenges for Accessible Information Provision: The EUAIN project Workshop Leader / Organizer: David Crombie, FNB, The Netherlands, DCrombie@fnb.nl Date and Location: Tuesday, July 6, 9:00 - 12:00 Room: Salle 223, Building Esclangon, 2nd Floor Abstract: Given the widespread adoption of ICT within the publishing industries, there is a general interest in the creation and provision of well-formatted digital documents. For those people who are dependent on accessible information, this interest is of central importance, and it is this convergence of interests that offers exciting opportunities for these different stakeholders. This workshop will examine the ways in which this convergence is helping to build consensus and create new standards and technologies for the provision of information in formats which are more accessible for everyone. (Social, pedagogical, technical, organisational areas) How to guide people with disabilities through their special barriers, demands and wishes? back to top H) Access to Mathematics for Blind People Workshop Leader / Organizer: Art Karshmer, University of South Florida, arthur@csee.usf.edu Date and Location: Tuesday, July 6, 14:00 - 17:00 Room: Salle 223, Building Esclangon, 3rd Floor Abstract: Access to mathematics and science is still a complicated issue for blind people. This workshop features an international group of assistive technology experts. During the workshop, they will present their work in this domain and solicit interaction with others others interested in creating solutions in this critical area of assistive technology. back to top |
