Short Description: The PDF format offers many accessibility features that document authors can take advantage of when offering PDF documents. This session will highlight the authoring techniques that should be used to create PDF documents, how to test documents for accessibility, and what end user experience for users with various disabilities can be expected.

Short Description: Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) promise to change the user experience on the web for the better. Using universal design principles and accessibility APIs, it is possible to build cutting-edge applications that remain usable by users with disabilities. This session will highlight modern techniques for building accessible RIAs using Adobe Flash and Flex technologies.

Short Description: This workshop aims to discuss the set up of an Austrian network on Assistive Technologies. Strategies in order to strengthen Assistive Technologies in Austria will be discussed. Furthermore, the network’s composition including the wide range of perspectives deriving from research to a practical approach will be pointed out.
We aim both to share and develop knowledge regarding AT in a regional framework.

Short Description: The "Save as DAISY XML" add-in was created through an open source project with Microsoft, Sonata Software LTD. and the Digital Accessible Information System (DAISY) Consortium. Come to Microsoft's discussion and demonstration of this add-in that will make it easier for anyone to create documents and content that will be accessible for blind and print-disabled individuals.
