Nowadays, 3D printing is getting increasingly popular. This is also reflected by online platforms like ‘Thingiverse’, a platform where 3D printable models can be shared. Up to now, there are more than 966 000 3D-models available on ‘Thingiverse’ – a number growing every day. A search for the keyword ‘assisstive’ already delivers 135 results, which reach from simple tools (e.g. bottle openers) up to complex ones like a hand prosthesis. A search for ‘splint’ delivers 116 results.
Also, the market reflects the popularity of 3D printing. There are already many affordable 3D printers and sets for self-assembly available on the market. With some effort, the results of very cheap (< 200 €) 3D-printers are thoroughly usable.
The 3D printing technology has the potential to revolutionize the world of AT. It supports fast development and prototyping of AT and enables even the affordable production of small series. Like this also users can develop / produce their own AT devices.

The STS is organized, to provide a forum for the discussion of major issues related to '3D printing in the domain of AT' and 'DIY AT', to identify technologies, strategies and approaches. Also the benefits and chances should be examined.
Papers should address, but are not limited to the following areas:

• 3D Printing in the domain of AT
• 3D Printing and occupational therapy
• Do it Yourselves AT
