Last ICCHP was a great successful in-person event, and it showed that Covid-19 crisis was gradually becoming a thing of the past. It was indeed a pleasure to see each other and engage fruitful discussions. Following that memorable event, we are delighted to announce the 19th vibrant biennial conference, returning to our home in LINZ! Since its inception in 1989, ICCHP has contributed a lot of research findings to various areas such as accessibility, inclusion, eAccessibility and Assistive Technology. Despite change of times and technologies, our goal and mission remain unchanged: to make ICT more accessible and tailoring assistive technology and services to promote inclusion and participation in all aspects of society. Personally, my first ICCHP experience was in 2000, over twenty years ago. Back then, there were no smartphones, no social networking services, and no practical artificial intelligences. Over time, technology has evolved dramatically. Nowadays, “everyone” uses various SNS on their smartphones, often with AI-driven recommendations. However, even in this cutting-edge era, or perhaps because of it, various accessibility issues still persist. To address and resolve such challenges, I am confident that ICCHP is the ideal platform. Here, you can find research companions, discuss your issues, and establish a global human network even more valuable than AI. We warmly invite you to participate in this remarkable conference and share your ideas. We eagerly await your contribution and presence. Come and get involved, make your own network! Makoto Kobayashi Tsukuba University of Technology, Japan General Chair ICCHP 2024 Topics https://www.icchp.org/topics-24 ICCHP focuses on Digital Inclusion, Assistive Technology (AT), Accessible ICT (eAccessibility) for people with disabilities, older adults and their support/education/care environment. ICCHP fosters independent living, participation, inclusion and improved services and support. B) ICCHP Open Access Compendium (OAC) “Future Perspectives on Accessibility, AT and (e)Inclusion” https://icchp.org/science-24#compendium The conference invites interested participants to publish their scientific work focusing on social, political, legal, medical, psychological, educational and other interdisciplinary aspects related to ICT/AT/eAccessibility in the digital edition of the ICCHP Open Access Compendium (OAC) “Future Perspectives on Accessibility, AT and (e)Inclusion”. The OAC series invite to publish original basic and applied scientific R&D from diverse fields without restriction to engineering (see LNCS). OAC aims to provide from an interdisciplinary and cross-sector perspective a good overview of advancements into the user-, practice- and service-driven domains of AT, Accessibility and (e)Inclusion (please refer to the list of topics at the end of the Call). Progress and success are based on the interaction with, contribution by and participation of all stakeholder groups (e.g., users, end user organizations, service providers, policy, administration, industry, NGOs). Every voice counts in the exchange on the impact of R&D on practice and in domains in need of creative and innovative R&D and co-operation. Exchange and co-operation between practice and R&D is a key asset for technical and social innovation. We invite interested authors coming from diverse domains and disciplines to submit extended abstracts of research work, but also more practice-oriented concept papers, models, reports, and position papers on topics related to our field. The compendium will also include contributions from the Forum part of the program (see below). These contributions will support a creative and innovative program facilitating cross-sector and cross-stakeholder interaction and dissemination. Registration to the conference by at least one author per contribution is mandatory! Register following this link Key info: Step one - Well-detailed extended abstracts of original, unpublished work: • Prepared for being entered in our online submission form (filtered html) for double blind review (planned) • Max. 10.000 characters (incl. blanks, corresponding to 3 – 5 pages DIN A4, Times New Roman, 12pt, single space lines, single columns, margins 2cm each – include headings and structure!) • To be ready for a fair review, your abstract must comprise the following main parts: introduction, state of the art, methodology, (first) results and the most important references to be ready for a fair review • Select “OAC” when entering your abstract into our Conference Management System • Deadline: February 2, 2024 • Reviewed by 3 experts • Notification of Acceptance: March 15, 2024 Step two: Final version and publication in the digital edition of the ICCHP Open Access Compendium (OAC) “Future Perspectives on Accessibility, AT and Inclusion” • 4 – 8 pages • Guidelines to be published asap • Upload: Via the Conference Management System • Deadline camera ready version: April 5, 2024 Step three: Presentation at the conference (timeslots of approximately 20 minutes including discussion) C) Special Thematic Sessions https://icchp.org/sts-24 ICCHP invites leading experts to organize Special Thematic Sessions (STS) to present a focused, detailed and comprehensive view to specifically defined topics of particular interest.
